Stupid CS Question..

Just wondering if anyone knows whether CS:S will be able to run @ 1280x768? From all the screens released of HL2 it would appear that you can use it so i'm hoping CS:S will too.

? thats not very high res, its widescreen thats all I run my desktop in 2048x1536

holy crap. I run 1024 x 768 .. You have twice the resolution.. What kind of monitor do you have?

and yes there are 2 different wide screen options. just select it in the drop down on the video options

Cool thanks, i remember i did try to run widescreen on HL1 through steam but the options were all high res like 1920x1080 or something, which would obviously make the game run like a dog. I'm hoping it will be more than playable in HL2 & CS:S, i know 1024x768 runs great on average systems and 1280x1024 is still very playable, so 1280x768 should be right in the middle performance-wise but you get the widescreen goodness

Yes it is a stupid question as if the Source engine (no matter what shape or form) can support it in HL2 it WILL support it in Counter-Strike.

Well yes thats pretty obvious , but i wasnt actually sure if HL2/.CS:S did support 1280x768, the screens that have been released have all been widescreen, but they could have been resized from any number of widescreen resolutions. I'm not asking if you will be able to play widescreen, i'm asking if you can run 1280x768 in particular.
