stupid hammer question

What is the hotkey (or whatever I need to press) in order to have both sides of my clip stay in Hammer.

To put in (hopefully) clearer turns: If I use the clipper tool to cut a chunk out of a brush, what do I need to press to have both sides of my clip stay after being split?

Shift-x toggles between cut left, cut right, and split.

that or clicking on the clipping icon will toggle between them as well
