if i preload the game, hl2, and then buy it, and just enter the cd, will i be able to play that second, and keep the box in presetine condition, ask valve some one, they ignore me.

Yes. You can preload HL2, and get the CD key from your retail copy, and add it to your Steam account, and play without the CD.

If previous games are any indication yes. So far Valve has not pre-loaded all the HL2 files but it is assumed that before release most if not all will be pre-loaded. You should be able to enter the cd-key from your retail boxed version and play the game soon after. Personally I'm going to buy the game directly off Steam to save the trip to the store as long as it is released on steam at the same time. If it hit retail first I will be doing what you are going to do.
