Okay. Here's the deal:
I have an iPod. I love it. Of course, I have iTunes as well. The problem is, this also gives me Quicktime. I hate QT with a passion. Often, when I try to download an mpg or mp3 file from a link, it'll just open with QT, and it won't let me download it. I've tried everything, and there's no way to disable this. What's worse is that I can't uninstall Quicktime without uninstalling iTunes! What the hell! So I was wondering, does anyone know of a way to disable the files opening in Quicktime, or to uninstall it without uninstalling iTunes? Thanks.

Ever tried right click ---> Save as....

It's not that hard

Right click on a movie file. Open with. Select the program you want to open it with and select always use this option or along the lines of that. You'll have to do this with each file type.

My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File Types
That'll let you choose what mp3's open in

And get QT Alternative like Cyber said if you need to watch any .mov files (I use VLC though)

Odd. I love Quicktime. It's simple and it never screws up on me.

No, when I right click it doesn't let me save as.
This doesn't happen all the time, just very oftenly. And yes, it is my default program, but how the hell do I take it off that?

Ah, sorry Ikerous, I missed that. I'll do that. And I have VLC (love it) but it's just not on default... yet.

I too dislike Quicktime for the same reason I don't like RealPlayer. They certainly have their merits, but it's like wrangling a bull to get them not to do what you don't want them to.

Winamp!
