So for the past day or so I've had a little message popping up on my screen telling me I have a virus. This message does not come from Windows, or Norton, or any other reliable program, but it's clearly some form of Spyware or the like. It started yesterday after this program called "SpywareQuake" installed itself on my computer. This program opened about 6 processes from Windows/System32 which after much work I sorted out/deleted etc..

I've run AdAware and Spybot and they find nothing. This is getting annoying as hell. Every few minutes it pops up for about 30 seconds.. kicking me out of whatever game I'm playing usually. I can't find any process running that could be it.. But I may be missing it..

Here's a SS:

Thanks for any help..

Have you tried Microsoft's anti-spyware program? It finds some stuff that those two don't (and vice versa).

Could also give NOD32 a try (anti-virus and anti-spyware). They have a 30 day trial. That is what I use and it detected spyware when I had random ad browser windows popping up.

I'd say XoftSpy is worth paying for.

One of the best anti-spyware jobbies there is.

It's because you're playing Fallout boy :p.

Nah I don't know. SS of your processes maybe?

I had almost the exact same problem a while ago and after searching about the problem, I found a step-by-step thing on how to remove it, I'll see if I can find it again... All I remember is the procedure ended with using a program called Ewido anti-malware...

Edit: Just google spywarequake and try different stuff...

I had the exact same problem not too long ago. You have to do a TON of stuff, and it takes hours. I dont remember where I found the instructions to remove it.

cli.exe = ati catalyst control center
ctpcesrv.exe this process i have no idea but its probably the problem other then that all of the other ones are normal
cant find anything on it

if you don't know what a process is, just put the entire name into google, and click on the link to liutilities that comes up.
