stuttering

Ok, I got a geforce 6800 and hl2 yesterday, and it stutters, bad. i did everything with drivers. I'm running it at 1024x768/2xaa/4xaf. The update didn't fix this (if it did update, that is). And trying mat_forcemanagedtextureintohardware 0

specs:

XFX 6800 128 mb
amd 2500+
512 mb

I scored 81fps on the stress test, and it runs fine on hl2..but this problem really bugs me.

Try upping the heap.

Right click on HL2 and click launch options. Type in -heapsize 256000

i have the same problem except with a new X800 XT PE, and i get around the same fps as u, this is not cool as ati is ment to perform better in HL2, im trying ALL i can to fix this damn lag/stuttering
