su-35 "knaapo"

without looking, I'm guessing it's proforming the "Viper" move....

downloading though, because I LOVE these things!

Just pure badass...I gotta see some F-22 vids and see if it compares. :D

Cobra maybe?

For manueverabily, the F22 is probably more so, due to thrust vectoring. however the F22 is bigger as well, sooo...

However NO american jet is capable of the viper move. :)

I love to see prove that quote.
Jets are my bag, baby. ;)

American Pilots aren't allowed to perform that manuever, but most fighters can. To name one, the F-16. It's powerplant provides more thrust than the aircraft weighs, so it can accelerate going vertical if it had to. I promise you it can perform that manuver.

Edit: I's also like to add that the Sukkois (spelled wrong, I know) are some of the most agile aircraft in the world. The F-16 is really the only american aircraft that can turn with an Su-27, and the Su-35 has a similar canard arrangment, and thrust vectoring won't make up the difference that much.

Why aren't they allowed to perfom that manuever???

don't want to lose a pilot or jet. It's just a safety rule. In combat, they cna do whatevber they need to to stay alive. Same thing with flying <500 near supersonic. they can't do it in training, but in combat they can.

dont both the f22, and even things like the mig3x have thrustvectoring? this certainly does.

This is that badass Russian jet that can turn around while straight up in the sky. It is so bitchin'.

many new fighters have thrust vectoring.

Only the F/A 22 and the Su 37 has thrust vectoring, the Rafale, Typhoon and the Gripen do not, however, the ej200 engines on the Typhoon can have thrust vectoring technology implemented at a later date. The F/A 35 also has no thrust vectoring technology planned.

The Su37 Flanker is the most manuveurable fighter aircraft in service or due to enter service, the only aircraft that can outperform a Su 37 are the very, very advanced technology demonstrators, the F/A 22 can not out manuveur a Su 37.

Also, how manuveurable an aircraft is compared to other aircraft depends on lots of factors, including speed, altitude, weapon load out and weight. The F16 is a light fighter with very limited range and weapon loadout, the Su 27 Flanker is a long range interceptor capable of carrying some very impressive armament with a very large, long range radar system.

That is also incorrect, Raf fighter pilots are trained to fly at 200 feet at 500 -600 knots in Tornado fighter bombers and Hawk trainers.

Most aircraft can not perform a cobra as well, it is not the thrust to weight ratio that matters most, it is the very high angle of attack that the cobra manuveur requires. As far as i am aware, the only Western aircraft that can perform a cobra is one of Nasa's prototypes that tests thrust vectoring technology, not sure about the F/A 22 though. Also, pilots are limited in combat by their flight computers and the aircraft, the flight computer would not allow and limit the manuveurs and the g forces that a pilot pulls on the aircraft to ensure the pilot doesn't panic and overstress the aircraft.

LOL @ men with giant telescopes!!! can u handle that telescope little man? hu? hu? can you?

and the second parts well good, i love it when they go vertical.

This brought a question to mind. i wonder how much money was wasted in 1942 due to n00bs getting in planes and trying to do backflips, then ejecting out and wasting the plane. We must have wasted so much money in the war...

hey wait, that was a game...?

I just love seeing these guys discussing which plane can or can not perform this or that maneuver....

MY countries airforce owns YOUR countries airforce!

Wowweeee the plane went woooshhhh and whizzzzz and it span around about a kajillion times!

That's all i got from the video ;(

Yeah :( I'm not a huge airplain buff.

BTW, was the viper the move when he went like straight up in the sky but he was actually just standing still in mid air?

wow nice jetfighters. i would love to have one of those at home ;)

There was one for sale on eBay awhile back, you should have bought it :D

Next time one of those comes to ebay. Il try to buy one. Hope i get a dvd player with it so that i can watch movies when im flying long distances with the jet.

It is called a Cobra manuveur, not sure where people are get the word Viper from.

It is when an aircraft pulls right back on the stick, decreasing the airspeed dramatically to a point where the aircraft is completely stopped in midair and looking up.

It is a manuveur that is very valuable to have in a 1 vs 1 dogfight.

Yeah, then you could put neons on it for when you're flying low :)

Ive seen the Su27 Flanker pull off the so called 'viper' move at an airshow here in the UK although i forget which one as i used to go to so many. It truly was a sight to behold. Seeing that was still not a patch on seeing an RAF F3 Tornado going just subsonic down the length of Derwent dam in the peak district national park. It was going so low that as we were stood on the banks the Tornado was actually lower in height than me and my father and its downwash left a wake in the water and the sound of it going past made me involuntarily duck. After it has gone past we grabbed the OS map we had and worked out that we were at a height of around 130ft above the water level!!!
