subscription pending !??

Please help !!

I've installed the game , but when I entered mu registration keycode i ve got this message : "subscription pending. blabla steam servers currently unable to proces the transaction. You wont be able to play until subscription is complete. We'll notify you as soon as the transaction is complete"

Who knows this error ? How long does it take ? (approximatly?) And how will they notify me ? via email or via steam ?

Okay ... that pending @#*$ is done (took about 15 min) but now I'm stuck with "unlocking HL2 files" ...... AAARRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG !!!!!

It's at 50% . It reached 40 % quite quickly , but then it began to slow down , and now there doesnt seem to happen anything

I've redooted my system now. I instantly reach that 50% , but than it stops again ...
Any idee how long this might take ??

tho unlocking files takes a while as well

I do believe that the whole process can take a while, just hang in there and you'll be playing HL2 soon.

Suddenly it advanced to 66% !
But now its stuck again.
Oh well ... at least I know its still working.

Pffft , I'm still very happy knowing (and HOPING!!) I ll be playing HL2 soon , but after 5 yrs waiting all this installation proces kaka is realy bad for my nerves.

When i finally got to PLAY hl2 ... It was even slower then ****ing steam !!!!!!??????

But even with all settings on LOW & in a 800x600 resolution it lags like hell.

steam probably undercompensated for the BAJILLIONS of people frantically installing it today. The internet is only so fast, steams automated registration process can only go so fast. Have millions of people do it all today, and itll get a little stressed, but it will get done. Im avoiding it all by just waiting until Thursday, then ill be good to go

I'll be the first to say: what do you expect?! Windows itself will lag with 256MB RAM dude. Try upping to 1gig for a start - 512MB is MINIMUM for decent Windows operation. 1.5 AMD Athlon is a bit sucky too.. you can't expect to play these kinda games with less than a 2gHz machine, IMO.

Sorry, but you need a new pooter dude.

HL2 is a memory hog with 512BM RAM. Alt-tabbing can take a while . I can run it with everything high on a Mobility Radeon 9600 on 1024x768, up the mobilitys!!

I really need to defrag too. Sometimes there are slight freezes when it has to load a new sound.

I have a AMD Athlon XP 2000+ OCed with 640 ram with a
POS Gforce 2 TI 64mg , sure its not the prettiest picture at 800x600 with most everything turned off but it dont lag ..... but it will take about 10-15 seconds to load to a new area but i am blaming that on the POS video card ....... cant wait until the
ATI x800 comes in stock at my local store :smoking: The worse part was waiting for the Steam to DL with yet again POS dialup but other then that its ran almost perfect for me. I was really suprised when the game even booted up not expecting it too,
I got the pending error from Steam but about 4 minutes later i was ready to play and HOW SWEET IT IS
