My graphics card is overheating. I can't run the CSS stress test anymore without the temperature reaching to 65-66 C
I discovered the issue when Red Orchestra started resetting the computer seemingly randomly. I had to disable my overclock and relock the pipelines (I have a Geforce 6800)
Now, of course, I'm having framerate issues with all settings on high and max resolution.
The problem stems from the fact that my family haven't/don't/won't install air conditioning. "Waste of energy" they say. So I'm stuck with a hot room and therefore hot computer.

I do think though, there is something going on beyond what meets the eye.
I have 6 fans in the case (including 2 PSU). The setup I have is 3 fans in the sides and front blowing in, and 3 fans on the back. I also have 3 fans blowing directly on the graphics card.

It's a leadtek winfast A400 Geforce 6800 with 128 MB of DDR RAM. I'm using stock cooling. My CPU is running at most 55 C. The ambient temperature is between 35-45 C.
So if anyone has any advice, I need it. :)

The 6800GT reaches 70-75C all the time...
It's quite common for GPU temps to be up there during gameplay.

Is hot room temp your problem? Do you by chance have an Intel CPU? If so, they underclock (loss of a lot of performance) when they get really hot. If you have an AMD then nvm.

u need to devise way of getting cooler air... is pointless asying get more fans becuase your heavily laden already, only idea woudl get the 210 cfm delta fans , cut a whole in your case sumwhere and have everything sucking out :p

or just get water cooling kit and just fix it to the cold water tap :)

water cool :D The Exos 2 works very well for me. It costs ~ $500 though. Before that I bought the Zalman CPU cooler and used some Arctic Silver5 with it and it worked great (get the all copper cooler the 7700). The Zalman VGA cooler didn't work so good so I went back to the stock one. I'd get the NV Silencer for air cooling for your video card.

I would water cool but I'm saving my cash right now. Watercooling is a fairly large investment.

Yeah, I have an Athlon 2800 +.
I'd rather lose my balls than buy Intel. :-\

I've got an idea for cooling the room so we'll see if that helps. :)

Where do you live???

You might need to work on your case orientation within the room. First, pick a cooler room if you can. Make sure it has plenty of room to breathe. Try to keep it away from other electronics. Etc, etc.

By ambient I mean by the temp inside the case. In this room it's the same temp as outside (90 degrees), probably hotter because my case is generating heat.

Right now I have it in the corner of the room with the back of the case about a foot from the wall, and the side next to it, if that's what you're wondering.

I don't want to move to the basement :( That's my dad's area :p
But yeah, I'm going to try to cool this room better.
