Been playing a lot of RE5 with morgs and solo lately, and it is starting to get somewhat boring (solo at least).

I have MP games covered with BC2 Vietnam and Black Ops, so I'm really looking for something singleplayer.

Maybe a good horror/survival game? (Have played Dead Space to death)
Or a good Fantasy/Sci-Fi game? (Like Too Human more or less in terms of swords and armors, and yes I have played Mass Effect in terms of another big Sci-fi game)

Also already played/beaten Red Dead Redemption, GTAIV/Episodes, and Metro 2033. I dunno, but games seem to be getting boring, may just be that I haven't played a super SP game in awhile. There was a big Zelda discussion in the chat earlier and it made me want a game with swords and monsters, I just can't come up with anything off the top of my head.

Darksiders is Zelda-esque with a God of War combat style. It wasn't my cup of tea but a lot of people like it.

Oblivion (just do the main quest and some of the Guild shit, skip the rest of the crap unless you like to explore)
Mass Effect 2
Fallout New Vegas

I hated the main quest in Oblivion, I had much more fun with all the other stuff. I do love to explore, though, but that's almost the entire point of Elder Scrolls games.

assassins creed, but I'd rent the first two.. you can beat them in a week easily, and after that there's no point in replaying

Deadly Premonition

I got this game a few days ago, honestly, it's story is great etc but the gameplay is so terrible, it's more fun to just watch the Giant Bomb endurance run.

Anyway, if you want a good fantasy-game with lots of crafting/customization of armor, weapons etc check out Two Worlds II which just came out.

Singularity is a quite decent sci-fi FPS, maybe Arkham Asylum if you've yet to play it. Aliens Versus Predator was pretty good though I seem to be in the minority that liked it. Maybe try the recent Alien Breed trilogy as well.

Arkham Asylum is fantastic. It's like Assassin's Creed, but good and with Batman. In fact, it's not like Assassin's Creed at all because it's actually really fun to play and well made and over all a great game.

Dead Rising is fantastic but with a steep learning curve and a heavy emphasis on exploration and discover. A lot of people don't understand that you're not really supposed to finish the story mode on your first play through. You're supposed to level up a bit and learn where everything is in the mall (learning where the uzis spawn is a must) and then die and start over (you keep all your levels when you start over). Go get it.

Alone in the Dark is unpolished and buggy with a dreadful first level but once you get to the park it's great. It has some pretty unique gameplay and an interesting way of doing things. Unlike most survival horror games there are only a dozen or so items, but you have to figure out how to combine them and has semi-realistic physics puzzles (eg, if there is wooden door, you can actually just light it on fire to burn it open, or bash it in with something heavy, or shoot the lock off).

I have to agree with ríomhaire with regards to AitD, it also has a god-damned fantastic soundtrack!

I've played and beaten Dead Rising, but I am curious about the sequel. Is that any good?

I also achievement whored Alone in the Dark, it was enjoyable and it took a good 2-3 weeks to get all of the achievements.

Played and beat Singularity, might be one of my favorite SP games in a while.

What is AvP really? I thought it was a more MP based game :/

TW2 looks so fun, what kind of replay value is there?

Despite having beaten Too Human now 5 times over, I keep going back to craft new armor and weapons. Even with a level 50 charcter I keep trying to improve it. Is TW2 similar?

Oblivion (just do the main quest and some of the Guild shit, skip the rest of the crap unless you like to explore)
Mass Effect 2
Fallout New Vegas

Oblivion has my interest in more of the "roam around and fight dragons with swords" type game. Is it anything like that? (Never REALLY looked into it.)

Should've specified, I played/beat ME1 and ME2.

And if you look through some of my posts, you'll see how I feel about Bugout: New Gaygas.

Deadly Premonition

Everytime I go into Gamestop I see this game and look at it for like 5 minutes. I do want to give it a whirl, but like Garg said, it may just be better to watch a playthrough first (heard lots of not so joyous things).

TBH honest the multi is pretty dead, what with the user base being split with DLC etc. The single player campaign is probably the reason I still play it and although each campaign is short, combined they easily equal the length of any other recent FPS. It is very old school in it's design though. The Marine has no crouch or iron sights (except for the sniper rifle) and the Alien takes time to get used to.
A good indicator would be to play the original gold edition, then picture it with far batter visuals and a real story with cut scenes etc.
Of course, if your not a fan of the source material you may not enjoy it as much as if you were.

I can't really say, they are different games, Two Worlds II is an open-ended RPG akin to Oblivion, whereas Too Human is a hack'n'slash-style game that I haven't beaten, the poor design made me stop playing around 75% through the game.

Not to mention I'm not the kinda person that replays games to begin with, my backlog is far too big for me to be able to afford that.

Exceptions being RPGs/games with multiple plotlines etc, like Alpha Protocol.

And I still haven't beaten Two Worlds II, but the crafting potential seems quite big in Two Worlds II and you also get to craft stuff like spells to your hearts content.

deadly premonition
*snip*

I played 8 hours of Deadly Premonition before giving up, and I'm generally quite patient with diamonds in the rough, but to me Deadly Premonition has no real redeeming features outside of the story itself.

In all honesty I kindof agree

I'm about half way through but yeah the game is so user unfriendly i had to take a break and since then i've been playing super meat boy.

I'll get back to it eventually tho i'm sure.

Sometimes games like Deadly Premonition, Rogue Warrior and Jurassic the Hunted make you smile

those are indie games and they're like $8 used right now

I thought Two Worlds 2 wasn't out until January 25th or something?!?

Not really answering your question about 360 games, but would just like to suggest this: 2nd hand Gamecubes are going for like $20 these days, pick up one of those to satisfy all your singleplayer needs. (the kind of games that make the GC awesome are kind of love it/hate it though.)

Zelda WW/TP, Pikmin 2, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, etc.

I enjoyed Alan Wake. You might want to give it a try. Well polished and good story IMO.

Dead Space 2 will be out soon. That's a must have.

Haha I've gotten that a lot, it came out over here in Sweden on the 30th of November.

After having spent around 10 hours in SP and 20 in MP total, I am currently taking a break for it playing some old games on the PS2 for a few days.

Pre-ordered Two Worlds 2 because after looking into it I am STOKED. Game looks incredible.

Also bought Deadly Premonition, figure I'll either beat it in 7 days or give up and just exchange it. Maybe for Darksiders. I dunno.

Gave up one DP real quick, that game is just awful.

Returned it and got Oblivion, Dragon Age: Origins and Fable 2. (I am aware that DOA would have been better on PC, both Taviow and Sliver have pointed that out.)

Glad to see someone else on here who bought DP felt that the game was too horrible to finish.
