Super Mario 63 is a fan-game inspired by Nintendo's Super Mario 64. Many levels and features are based upon it and other of Nintendo's games, but a variety of them are completely original. Among them include a detailed storyline, ability to play as Luigi, a highly customizable Level Designer with sharable codes, three different FLUDD Power-ups, four different power-caps, and 64 Shine Sprites & 64 Star Coins to collect.

And also, please use the Level Designer. I personally feel that the Level Designer is the best feature.

Wow - that looks stunning.

I wish Nintendo would release a new flagship 2d Mario game.

At first I felt Mario jumped a bit too far and fluidly... everything feels a little too fast. You get used to it though, and it's probably more faithful to the 3D versions (I've only really played 64 DS). It doesn't help that the 'up' arrow is jump though. I'm playing this on a gazillion keys, not a mobile phone. Overall, it plays for me a it like NSMB and Yoshi's Island after too many E-numbers, though it matters less because it has 64's health bar, which was always needed in a 3D environment but makes this game a little too easy really...

It could do with being a little less faithful to 64 from what I've seen. I was never mad for the way that 64 attempted to make itself seem eight times longer by forcing you to replay the level to grab each Star individually, but often in 64 trying different sub-challenges actually required some kind of difference in the level, so you couldn't get all the stars at once. Here, so far, it just seems to be a hangover from the game it pays tribute to and it's kind of frustrating, despite how fun but easy it is to play in general. A Braid-like system with an exit at the end of each level that you can dash towards without actually achieving anything seems to be a more enlightened way of doing things (since you can't advance without the stars, or knowing the secret passages...).

Nit-picking away with, it's really quite excellent for a fan-made game. Well worth a look if you like, or ever have liked platformers.

Wow is right. That looks and plays like buttah. Awesome stuff.

I played the shit out of Yoshi's Island!

You want a co-op challenge, you play Battletoads though.
