I opened this thread in SteamPowered forums too...

Since the first lame excuse for a patch, I have had super stuttering problems all over the game. in HL2 and in CSS.

Since the other lame excuses didn't halp, and the suggestion to put this in my shourtcut:
-mat_forcemanagedtextureintohardware 0
did not help either, I shot a video describing the problem.

Here is the link

http://s11.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=36T4OEO3LVWUS15D5SLVGWJRRT

but the stupid server only allow few downloads... sry. Im uploading two more times...
It shows that when I look at a certain direction, I recive a super stuttering problem, and when I look at another location- it runs smooth.

So if anyone can really help me, please do, because I DID NOT pay 60 buckes for not being able to play since the first "patch"...

THX...

Sounds like an issue with the soun card stated in the updates thing... Um... Have you tried turning down sound quality?

I need your system specs.. :P

Fixed it huh? I really don't think so...

Fixed it... Yeah Right...

Fixed it, my a**

change XP accounts.

I know it may sound stupid, but i had a big stuttering problem with CSS and HL2DM and after trying another XP account. it worked :D

LOL dude why are you qouteing me?? :D
P4 2.8C @ 3.1
ASUS P4P800SE
1024MB DDR400
R9800PRO 128DDR
AUDIGY 2 ZS

My sound card is fine, and the problem didn't worked itself out even after a format.
However, when I lower the texture level and model level to medium while everything else is on HIGH and 4X/4X it runs great! but of course I wanna play it on HIGH!!!

Can't tell ya much more untill they release another virus.

The game runs fine on my system with everything set to MAX. But then, you didn't want to hear that now did you? :smoking:

I swear your hl2 movie was of my computer. I get EXACTLY the same stuttering at EXACTLY the same places. Even the intro movie stutters.
I have a:
p4 2.6
nvida gforce 6600 gt
512 ddr

No matter what i try, from lowering the settings to LOW on everything, it still stutters the same as if it was on high. As for the loading times...............i swear i was runing it on a URL=http://www.blinkenlights.com/classiccmp/ibm/5100brsm.jpg]IBM 5100[/URL]

Any ideas what it could be?? HL 2 looks awsome for the few moments its playable. I wonder if the graph card isnt getting enough juice. I only have a 300w power unit.

Actually, no matter what I have my game set to, it does seem to "stutter" like you guys are describing. The specs to my system are in the sig. \/ \/ \/

I'm going to look into getting different drivers, but I think the game is just like that. Part of the problem might be attributed to the fact that the games are running off of the CD. Does anybody know about a no-cd hack? I bet that's a major contributor to the humongous loading times too.

There was already an update released a while back, via Steam, that no longer required the CD/DVD to be used when playing.

This problem doesn't exist, nuh-nuh-nuh-nuh nothing to see here, move along

Well there you go, your hardware is inadequte. Valve can't fix hardware that can't run the game on full all the time.

Did it reduce loading time?
