Vector Tanks for the iPhone has a sequel coming soon. Super Vector Tanks. He has hired - get this - the voice actor from Duke Nukem to do the voice overs. Get some!
New in this game is Rage Mode, at least one new weapon called the screamer (not sure if I was supposed to reveal that info), new graphic effects, lots of speech, and some surprises. The sound effects of the tank and weapons are pure awesome, as before. I was playing a recent build yesterday and I have to admit, it's fantastic.
Vector Tanks is pure - it closely resembles the classic arcade game Battlezone - in fact the author of the original Battlezone arcade machine praised it, saying "this is truly a worthy successor to Battlezone", in so many words. At only a couple dollars, in my opinion this is a must have game for the iPhone.
Super Vector Tanks will be carnage. Several tanks on the battlefield, fast paced chaos - it's very fun. I'm pretty sure it has the classic mode as well, albeit with many improvements.
There will be 3 selectable characters to play as. The voice actor from Duke Nukem will say the name of the character you select. The three characters will be, like two different marines and a British woman. (sorta forget the details)
He was brainstorming for ideas for their names. He only had a name for one of them, and it was 'Carnivore'. I could imagine Duke saying "Carnivore!" when you select him - come on, he could say anything and it would be cool - but he probed me for ideas. In like 2 seconds I spat out "Ripper", but I was drunk, so I don't know.
I was laughing my ass off, so I suggested I ask you guys for name ideas. I mean, you could suggest other things for the game here as well, particularly if you've played Vector Tanks or Battlezone.
Duke will be basically a spectator - like an announcer in Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. I can't recall exactly the things he says, but he basically comments on the carnage - obviously over the top.
Though it's pretty much covered, as most of the voice-overs are done, you could suggest some things for him to say that could make it into the game last minute. Legally, he cannot say anything to do with the game Duke Nukem.
