I never saw surfing in the original CS, but got into it for source!

its fun you slide down ramps and do jumps, a good time :thumbs:

Surfing in 1.6 was so much more fun than in Source, when valve slowed down the accelerate and airmove physics they kinda... broke surfing.

There are certain cvars that return the 1.6 feel, but its not as crisp.

we tweak our server pretty good, it has a real nice feel to it, if you stick to the same server you get a feel for it

I just found surfing maps this morning, and they're great! It took me a while to work out how to do them properly (i.e. not to hold W ), but now i see how fun they are.

Pity that the only ones I've tried are quite ugly, with mat_fullbright on, and no scenery or anything. Does anyone know any really nice looking surf maps? Or what's the best surf map?

i personally love surf_egypt (there is a version with good ligthing and textures but i like the mat_fullbright one) surf_urban is good, and surf_leet is really really cool. i think surf_egypt has the best opportunity for tricks and its really a varied map.
