Ive got a standard scart cable that plugs into the scart socket of my TV. I want to somehow use my 5.1 surround sound from my PC.

It uses the standard sockets that go into my sound card (left, right and sub).

Any ideas how I can set this up? Theres a Headphone socket in my TV but then I wont be abke to have all speakers running

headphone ports only run in 2.0 sound, but you can buy an rca adapter at a local electronics store that will allow you to put the(left, right, sub) which will convert it to R,L (red, white wires)so you are able to use it with your xbox.

The easiest way to go about getting proper surround sound from your 360 is using an optical output. Does your scart cable have an optical output ? On the 360 cables they can usually be found on the back of the plug where the cable plugs into the 360.

Im using the scart cable that came with Xbox 360 Core system. Ill check tonight. What do you think of that sourround system from Argos? Its got Optical input too

Well I dont have an optical out on the block :-( Looks like I need to get a better set of cables. Can anyone suggest some for me?

Ive seen these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-AV-Cable-SCART-Xbox/dp/B000BBERZ2

I need it to have componants at the end to plug into my regular CRT TV. Or is SCART better? I live in the UK by the way
