Which was worse?

I say it's Episode 1, due to the overuse of cgi, which acts like a crutch; something previous episodes used much less and benefited from it.

(attempts a poll)

DAMMIT voted for the wrong thing. I meant to vote for Episode 1.

Both failed. but I'd have to say Revolutions sucked more. Phantom Menace had Darth Maul, who in my opinion nearly offset the effects of Jar-Jar Binks and rescued the film.

Ep 1, it was a kiddie film from start to finish, Revolutions atleast gave some closure

Episode 1.

At least in Revolutions I could mindlessly stare at the battle of the dock thingy with the APUs and whatnot.

Episode 1. I can't even get through it anymore, I feel stupid for watching it. It seriously comes off as a movie made for 10-12 year olds to me.

That said, the Darth Maul fight almost salvaged it. But Revolutions has, uhh... wait, which one was that again?

...

Oh damn, Revolutions was the LAST one? That SUCKED. ****, I thought that was the second one, which atleast had some decent action. D:

Revolutions was 'kay. If it weren't for the battle scenes then I would never consider watching it again.

Any film which has DARTH FRICKIN VADER ask natalie portman if she is an angel is worthy of death in my book.

Revolutions is the lesser of the two evils IMO.

I love the final battle in revolutions, I've watched it so many times I can recite the 10mins of diaglouge from memory lol.

MR rox for the walkers, I just love the walkers, so friggin awesome..

Ep1

I must be the only person who liked revolutions more than reloaded.

Revolutions

At least EP1 had that awesome light saber fight...

I thought you were asking for the best, so I voted for the wrong one. While Revolutions was pretty crappy, it has some good battles. Ep 1 sucked all the way through, except for the final battle with Darth Maul (which was like 2% of the movie).

The Episode 1 lightsaber battle was ruined, quite simply, by the absolutely laughable set in which it took place. I don't care if it's Star Wars: that place ****ing sucked the big one. First, it looked as though it was supposed to be some kind of vast reactor chamber that was...built onto a hanger! You know, I bet the Naboo builders totally went about designing that place with Jedi battles in mind.

“Lets make a ridiculously open space just in case two Jedi and a Sith decide to use it as an epic battle setting!” “That sounds excellent! Tell you what, we'll have countless walkways that take around 30 minutes to traverse and colossal energy spires that make it look WICKED SICK!”

But they weren't done there. Nah-uh. Not in the least. “Lets also build an adjoining room with a seemingly bottomless pit!” “Swell – what happens in that room?” “Absolutely **** all!” “****ing sweet – do you reckon one of them might fall down there?!” “Hey, great idea! I bet they will! Lets also put multiple shields in the entrance! You know, like, about 6!!” “lol I'm not sure that makes sense!” “I DON'T THINK SO EITHER LOL BUT WHO GIVES A SHIT.”

Star Wars locations are so utterly mundane and pointless. Lucas has absolutely no ****ing clue what he's doing. It doesn't matter if it's sci-fi, it's just catastrophically stupid.

Revolutions was more of a disappointment for me. Star Wars had already had it's day - anything decent from the prequels would have been a bonus - but The Matrix was awesome and the trilogy had the potential to be something great, perhaps even a 'Star Wars' for this generation. Reloaded/Revolutions completely ****ed it up.

Ep.1 was at least a shite Star Wars film. Revolutions was just shite.

They were both shit. I can't even remember what happened in Revolution. By the end of Episode 1, all I can remember is I never wanted to kick a child in the head until I saw Ep 1. I usually try to forget what happens in shit movies.

Well, he keeps re-releasing them doesn't he? "Greedo isn't blue enough. Lets do him up and re-release."

Star Wars: Re-mastered!

Oh shit, people liked the original Greedo. Re-release.

Darth Maul vs. Giant Mech fight. I'll give the tip to Revolutions because I tend to just cringe at parts of the movie, rather than the whole idea of the movie itself.

Revolutions. As bad as the prequels were... lightsabers!

I didnt hate Episode 1 as much as most people. I guess because I wasnt expecting anything of it. Shit, I didnt even know it was released until the day after. I actually kind of enjoyed it. I was never a hardcore SW fan, plus im a CG whore so I liked all the CGI. :/

Matrix Revolutions sucked though. Not even CGI could redeem it for me.

Episode 1, it was boring as ****.
Atleast Revolutions is actually passable as an action flick.

I don't understand people's issue with Reloaded and Revolutions. If you like The Matrix, then why not it's sequels?

My one issue with the Matrix films is this - IT'S NOT A TRILOGY. The first movie was great in and of itself and it had a conclusive, satisfying, and most of all NOT IN THE LEAST ****ING VAGUE ending. The other two were duct-taped haphazardly onto the ass-end of the Matrix's plotline to try and siphon off some of it's success. The only reason it's called a "trilogy" is for the sake of dvd box set sales.

They're cheesy as hell and imo, they take the storyline of the The Matrix a little too far... making it a lot less believable than the first.

The Animatrix was really good though and I hate anime.

Episode 1 is quite a lot worse. Revolutions has some cool sequences, although it's a bit rubbish overall. Episode 1 really only has the podrace to redeem it.

Heed this man's words, for he speaketh ultimate sooth. I was shocked and annoyed when I heard there was going to be a second Matrix movie, since the first was an accomplished sci-fi flick with a perfectly self-contained plot and conclusion. The 2nd and 3rd films seesawed in quality from mildly entertaining eye-candy to utter ****ing bollocks, with no coherent plot whatsoever.

Leaving something slightly to the imagination > being a complete insult to intelligence (which is what the conclusion to Revolutions was)

I'd have to say Revolutions was worse than Ep1 - they were both rotting piles of faeces, but at least Ep1 didn't have any annoying pseudo-philosophical facade.

What was good about the podrace? It isn't like Jake Lloyd crashed and was smeared against the rocks..

The same can be said for Starwars. Lucas had no intention of releasing 5 other films until after A New hope surprised everybody by becoming the biggest movie ever.

I think there are only a few instances in film history where a studio is confident enough in a concept to finance 3 films from the get go. LOTR( which doesn't count) and Indiana Jones come to mind. That's all, though...

Yeah, but the second two of the original Star Wars trilogy were atleast pretty consistent with the first film, and it's easy to see that they're following the same general plotline. The Matrix "trilogy", if watched right through, seems more like a movie and two sequels. The plot of the first is self contained, just like the plot of the second two only seem to be concerned with one another (one short of a circle jerk, one might say (but then it'd be more like a triangular jerk (anyway where was I going with this (OHGODHERECOMETHEPARENTHESIS)))). This can be expressed as an equation, thusly:

The Matrix + [The Matrix Reloaded + The Matrix Revolutions] x number of Wachowski brothers who have undergone a sex change / joules of energy generated by Keanu Reeve's brain on set = OHSHI I DIVIDED BY ZERO D: D:

Also, it does not equal a trilogy, for these and other reasons I shant go into right now because I've completely ****ing lost my train of thought.

And now I'm off for snoozytime. Tata!

The podrace was ****ing annoying.

I hate the sounds the things make.

Saying that, the Podracer N64 game was a lot of fun.

Sure, both saga's have it's flaws but in the end, i love and enjoy both.
