hey,

Just wondering if this will work. Basically I pre-ordered MW2 off GAME for 44.99 and then I found out that you could get it alot cheaper, so I cancelled the pre-order. The game arrived anyway so I was planning on sending it back, and getting it off Amazon for 32quid instead.

Amazon get new stock in on saturday, so i'll have to wait a while including delivery, just wondering whether it would work if I played the one I got from GAME now, then returned my Amazon copy to GAME when it arrived.

Would they know it was another companys stock??

Cheers

You would have to see the condition the two games are in. I don't know the specifics of GAME's return policies, so you'd also have to check that.

"Any software may be returned for refund or exchange within 28 days of the despatch date, providing that the seal remains unbroken on the software."

Should imagine it would be ok, but do you reckon they'll find out the barcodes different or something?

I'm sure you'll be fine, unless they have a big GAME sticker or AMAZON sticker on em.

Didn't they stop putting stickers on the disc because they would melt in the CD drive?

I think they'll know it's a different copy you send back based on reference numbers and such.

Barcode number & number on the spine of the case could be noted with your order in case you try to buy an item and send back a faked copy and profit. I'm sure there is protection for retailers / etailers.

It seems logical to me, I wouldn't recommend the risk. If you want to save the cash, just wait till the Amazon copy is delivered!

If you return it to the store they will probably just check the seal and give you the money back. If you post it back they may do checks like Glenn said.

I'd rather wait, just in case they wont take it back then you're stuck paying the higher price.

Theyll just check the seal (so dont unwrap it).

The bar code is what really matters. You can buy a game from any shop, trade it in at any other and it will still register in their system.

For example, you could walk into GAME, buy a new game. Unwrap it, play it for a day. Go into a CEX shop and trade it in for cash or in-store credit, they just check the CD and scan the barcode.

No reason why your copy from Amazon wouldnt register on the system for GAME. Just DONT UNWRAP IT WHEN YOU RECIEVE IT.

And Amazon and GAME dont put stickers on their DVDs or games.

Send the game back in the Amazon box and put the reciept in. They will be non-the-wiser.

Personally I would wait till saturday. Its all just hassle otherwise.

The barcodes will be identical, and there should be no problem, as long as Amazon didn't put a hard to remove sticker on the plastic wrap.
