ok guys i set up my very first system today and i havent even overclocked yet, but i just got 15040 on 3dmark2001se....i cant wait till i overclock, yea i know some of u think synthetic things like this are crap well to damn bad a lot of people rate their system this way.:dozey:

whats your cpu speed? maybe you dont have to overclock yet. If its above 2400+ or a P4 2.4GHz i think you should wait 8+ months untill you overclock.

and about 3dmark and its alikes...i also do not like them, i think all the matters is if you like how your computer handles in a game, or when your doing other things. So pretty much if your happy with it without the tests, you dont need them.

actually, imo.. OF COURSE YOU SHOULD OC THE HELL OUT OF IT!! whaddya think a comp is for? burn the sucker, fun fun fun!!
seriously... get it as high as you can... a hardcore ocer could probably boost that 15k to at least 18k

If this is a braggin' thread, we need more bragging in here. Something along the lines of "my computer is faster than yours" or "my computer can be used to alter physical reality." I'd go first, but I like to at least pretend to be modest. As soon as the bragging really starts, i'll have a go.

why are you waiting 8+ months to o/c your cpu?

Nah, i would do the same. There is no need for him to OC his 2800+ ATM. No need to OC my 3.0C P4 that im getting. In 8 months however, they will be semi-old, so then ill OC.

real mature asshole....

there is no need to over clock a 2800+ let alone a 2500+ you just dont need to do that yet.

i didnt flame anyone untill you called me an idiot....your the flamer, so if you dont have anything on topic to say then dont post it. Cause no one cares what you think thats off topic.

yarg! I was going to get a good p4, but I got meself hooked up with a lower amd for budgetary reasons. Thus I will brag that I have on my shelf, and not in my comp:

An asus a7v600 motherboard
1024 ddr pc 2700
athlon xp 2800+
GeForce 4 ti4200
400watt ps
over 100 gigs of hd space
plantronics audio 90's
and a spiffy copper cpu heatsink

Not top-of-the-line, but damn close enough, especially as an upgrade from a 500mhz proc!

i dont really understand you, you are telling ME to grow up when YOU were the one that made the first unnecessary comment. I was posting on topic and you had to make a stupid remark....so maybe you should do a little growin up since obviously you have yet to do so...

Why OC your computer, which can reduce the lifetime of your CPU, risk breaking it or overheating until you actually need to?
If your not going to use the extra speed, then why OC it?
