Sync. out of range

ok, so I was messing around with the screen resolutions, and went bigger than my monitor could handle.Now when I try to start it up, I get a bouncing "sync out of range" message on a black screen. I know there's a command line parameter thing to put in the properties in the shortcut to give it a specific size to start in, but i can't remember what it is. could somebod ytell me, or give me another way to fix it?

btw, I've searched all over for it, but can't find it, so don't yell at me about doing a search.
