Earlier today I was flipping from a game to a webpage. I alt tabbed out, and the gamma was all messed up. Much, much darker than it should be. I resarted, checked all my cords, used a different input, all to no avail. I went through some monitor settings, and still can't get it to go back either. Anyone care to [shine some light on how to fix this?

Tried resetting to default using the monitor menu?

I've restarted about 3 times since then, and I've set it to default. This is really annoying, since I just bought this monitor a couple months ago.

Could be driver/s issue (Monitor and, or Video card).
Either way, uninstall/reinstall drivers. and see what happens.

Note: Uninstall old driver first, reboot, install new driver.

Good Luck.

the 226w has an app called LCD gamma that should in your tray when you start up ..check if the app is installed if not reinstall from the cd

also out of curosity does this happen when you log in to a different account other than your main? if I log in to my second account the lcd gamma app doest start up so it's much darker than if I log in to my main account

I would also check your color settings in the driver panel for your video card.

Alright, did all that and the desktop is now fine. But now, for any game I launch I get the same problems. But when I launch them in a window, they're fine. No clue what could be the problem there.
