System Requierments???

Alrite i went to some sites and for the system requierments for hl2, they said like 2.4 Ghz but then after they said CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4... so i been wondering if u need a intel pentium 4 2 play this game cuz i got and AMD 64 3300+ 2.4GHz and stuff. but i dont want 2 go and buy it if it wont run with an AMD processor.. Please answer

No, you're fine. Just get the game, your computer will run it fine.

By the way, those requirements you found were the recommended ones not the minimum.

I recently got a AMD 64 3200+ with 1 gig of Ram and a Asus 6600GT.

Man this game runs gr8! now.
All settings set to the max.

So don't worry that it won't run on your system.
What videocard you have?

I would say its more dependant on your graphicscards performance than the cpu

Thats not entirely true. It needs CPU power almost as much as graphics because of the physics calculations.

As for the topic poster, what video card do you have? That processor is awesome, I wish I had me one of those.

's true- my performance (9800pro) was boosted enormously when I got a new (AMD) processor.

yeah im pretty sure my video card will do awsome with it lol i just got a new one for like 5hundred.. but meh i got no insuance or ne of that crap to worrie about so im okay with spending lots of money for my comp lol. and ya my video card is ATI Radeon 9800XT 256MB AGP Video Card

btw, no consumer software has cpu brand requirements. only speed requirements.

Bus Interface

Someone told me that you have to have a video card with a Bus Interface of PCI-E of AGP is that true??

All systems with modern CPUs (Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon) should come with a motherboard that has support for either PCI-Express or AGP.

You don't have to have a card with one of those interfaces, but you
will probably not be able to find a modern card that is not at least made for
an AGP connection.
