Hahaha...

I really hope they don't make another System Shock, unless Irrational is behind it, and they don't try to dumb it down for the console market.

Bioshock was alright, but it wasn't a very true spiritual successor.

Why are we talking about an article from this time last year, that's reporting something Levine said three years ago? System Shock 3 being old news is old news too. That's the problem with the series in general. The very idea that System Shock 2 was underrated is utterly ludicrous, since everyone has been coerced into playing it by now, usually with the sole intention of being able to disparage Bioshock with true 'I was there when this was cool' pig-headed-ness.

They're both brilliant games. And people tend to forget that System Shock 2 was utter rubbish in places too.

And yet Bioshock was a mundane, relentlessly repetitive regular shooter with -- drum roll please -- a boss monster at the end.

I love how people still rip Bioshock apart despite the endless horizon of absolutely mediocre, bland shooters that plague our PCs and consoles these days.

Say what you will about it being a disappointment or boring or whatnot, but it was still a very tall head above the rest.

Bioshock wasn't a very good shooting game, but then that was never the point. If you complained about System Shock 2's shooter mechanics you'd be laughed out of the room, because that all you can really do in defence of it. System Shock 2 has some of the worst weapons in FPS history, the daftest RPG restrictions upon them and a weapon degradation system so pointless that the developer gave people the option to patch it out.

Oh, and I remember being locked in a room with a floating head with a zappy laser and a simple puzzle that must be solved before said floaty head can be destroyed. So that Bioshock had a retarded last minute boss is rather a moot point when Levine couldn't even identify the pedigree of the game he was using his mouth words to protect.

Honestly, Samon, if you didn't enjoy Bioshock - at least up to Ryan's office - maybe you should just stop playing FPS

I think a remake of SS2 would be cool.
Completely updated with today's technology.

No, I hate remakes.

Bioshock was decent as an Irrational/2k Project the same way that Dead Space was decent as an EA Project. While both obviously have some influence from the System Shock series, comparing either of them to being anything near as good as the System Shock series is completely ludicrous.

I've always been here, Jack. Like I said, nvm - changed my mind, ya know. ;)

I just started System Shock 2, the game controls and what-to-do's are hard for me to get straight...

That was 2007. It is now 2009. My opinion changes with time, as it should. I thought Episode 1 was quite good when it was first released, but in retrospect, it was pretty damn average.

You don't have to hide your disorders from us. :p
