Gabe Newell: Dell XPS, 2.8 GHz P-IV, ATI Radeon 9800 128 MB RAM. Anti-aliasing off, anisotropic filtering off. 60 FPS.

this is the system that they played on at E3.but in an other interview i saw that they were doing it on a geforce 4 with a P4 2.0. Did they lie or not ??

wil i be able to play it also on 60 fps with this system :

p4 3.0 (800 FBS ), asus P4C800-e deluxe , hercules 9700 pro , 1 gig ram DDR333 , 400 gb HD

i want to play on high detail , res. 1024 *768


plz help ...

Those were the specs that were used at 2003's E3, at 2004's E3 they were using an ATi x800 Pro, and probably a better processor.

I'd imagine with your system you could play at a solid 60FPS if you had no Anti-Aliasing on and 8/16x AF. This question really should have gone in the sticky thread above, though.
 
wtf a x800 pro and higer dan 3.0 ghz . nobody has that kind of thing :0
 
abom they didnt use an x800 pro. they used a 9800 xt and a 3.2ghz machine.

No. The 9800XTs are what they used when all the members of the press got their first playtests.

The actual machines at E3 2004 running the HL2 demos were on X800s
 
they ran it on 2.0 ghz and a geforce 4? if so then i can stop worring :)
