Is anyone else as amused by this program as I am?

There's just something about seeing japanese people doing clearly painful things that is purely entertaining, on a whole new level.

Favorite games have to be the most painful (stepping stones and high rollers)

Craig Charles is the best commentator for this too, he's so damn funny and true.

Any other Takeshi fans out there?

i like it when craig (the narrater) says what he thinks the japs are saying:

'Where am i?' , LOL..

i love that programme

"I like salty balls!"

"Girls are icky!"

I haven't watched that show in a long time. Best seen with friends, though, a lot of the time I just can't bring myself to laugh out loud unless there are other people watching it with me*.

*Exceptions: Family Guy, Will Ferrel, American Dad

Did anyone see one of the winning shows? They got an envelope.
Admittedly, anything could be in that envelope but knowing Takeshi's, it'll be a card saying "Thank You" or something else cruel.

I really don't get what compels people to enter, but its still entertaining. :D

Stardog, its on Challenge quite a bit. Channel 80 for me.

Great show! And as my old dad said...*insert extremely random quote*

Stepping stones is great, and the one with the doors where you gotta run at them and only ones real, the others are solid, and the maze with people trying to catch you, with water surrounding it, nothing more funny than one of those Japs running through a door and just falling into 'the soup' lol, i never thought many people watched it! awesome.

My favorite are the paper doors across from the muddy trench - they have to take a flying leap to get through the doors, but a good 50% of the doors are actually rock solid. Hilarity ensues.

We get it on this side of the pond, its called MXC over here... Its awesome, the narrarators always say the most off the wall stuff, and voice overs of the contestants are freakin'' hilarious.

I would like to see the actual "source" show, its kind of vague to me what its actually about, because over here its so cut up and edited and narrated over, I really have no idea what the real show is like.

LOL this programs so witty and funny. Some of the contestants must get so badly hurt...but has anyone ever seen them win ? i've not, the contestants get a puny little car and the show people get a mass-off big one with like 50 lasers :p

japanese people are silly

even if they win i dont think the prize would cover their hospital bill

Takeshi's Castle rocks, those crazy Japs. :)

The one where they have to run across the rocks is hilarious (and sometimes cringing :p).

Takeshi's Castle is genius. When there's nothing on TV, Challenge will probably be showing it, so you just know you're in for a laugh when you turn to it. High Rollers is my favourite game; the way some people fall through them looks like they could seriously cripple themselves, heh.

Oh man, this has been on TV in the US forever, but they call it "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" or MXC for short. Absolutely one of my favorite shows ever, I can't watch it and not laugh like crazy.

Takeshi's Castle is a much better name. :p
Who does the voiceover over there? Can't imagine Craig Charles not doing it.

The player who shot down Takeshi-san won one million yen (about $10,000 US).

Thank God they get something!!

sounds good. I'll try and download a few episodes of it (no Challenge TV for me :()

Nah, MXC sounds much better than Takeshi's Castle. Oh well, the source show is called Takeshi's Castle anyhow... and who the hell is Crag Charles? You haven't witnessed Takeshi's Castle until you've seen Most Extreme Elimination Challenge...

He's a British actor/comedian, most notable for his role in Red Dwarf as 'Lister'.

craig charles also appeared on 'Ripley's believe it or not' uk version.

I've only ever seen clips of it from Tarrant On TV. What channel's it on?

ChallengeTV
Trouble (sunday mornings I think)

To be personally honest, the pain and the slapstick nature of the game show would make its way to terestrial TV

And robot wars..

And he was on that program with Caprice where they went under make-up designed to look like a disfigurement to see how people reacted.

Wouldn't be a good title but I forget the proper one, kids didn't know what Red Dwarf was. :| But they recognised his voice from Takeshi's.

And now to our field man heres Guy LeDouche.Hello Kenny!I woulD really like some new episodes on SpikeTV!
