Talk about WEIRD!

Ok so Im having bogus water reflection problems, tried BuildCubeMaps and that fixed the crazy purple reflections on the wall, but still crazy water reflections.

So I compile the included SDK_Water map included in the SDK and ran it to find that the water looked just fine. Then went back to my map, and my water was good! (from far away) and here's the weird part, when I actually looked at the water, the old SDK_Water.bsp map was being reflected in it, even with the grenade I chucked in the old map!

To recap...a different level entirely was being reflected in the water in my map.

Anybody care to explain? Or just comment on how messed up that is?
 
why didn't you just post this in your last thread?
 
Because I felt like making a new one, why do you care?
 
I'm guessing it just used the last cubemap used instead of the default one... dunno.
 
That qualifies as weird. Not as bad as mine looking like melted silver. cube map and water lod all present. (SDK water looks norm, as does HL2 single player) Not as bad, but far weirder. (Try naming the cube map?) Never heard of this problem before.
