I'd be very happy if someone could tell me of some cool anime series/movies to watch.. I've seen ghost in the shell and i just downloaded akira and watched some, but some characters are really annoying (in akira)...

Sorry I couldn't contribute draken...

Bah, I got out part one and got so confused I just scrapped it.

Good series but too... blah!
 
Lain was beautiful, I'm still ashamed because I lost the final episodes.

However, Has anyone here seen that crazy anime that was went around this guy that gets hit in the head by a girl's guitar and things start growing from his head?
It was really wacko, made me lmao all the time.
If you do, please tell me it's name.

Not sure. Is that the one that joked about the Matrix with the girl going around the bullets?
And that they stopped a meteor with a guitar?

Series I have watched:

Azumanga Daioh - Complete
-Best anime series I ever watched, funny as hell

Gunsliner Girl - Not Complete
-A pretty good series so far, young girls with guns, and blood and shit.

Jungle Guu - Complete
-Another funny series, fast paced too, the full name of the series is "Jungle Wa Itsumo Hale Notchi Guu"

Jungle Guu DELUX - Complete
-The Sequel of Jungle Guu, just as funny as the first

Jungle Guu FINAL - Not Complete
-A series that has just started, the final installment of Jungle Guu, only the first episode is subbed.

Kimi Ga Nozumu Eien - Complete
-An anime that originally started as a hentai game, it was then made into a TV series on Tokyo TV.

Nurse Witch Komugi-Chan - Not Complete
Funny, Funny series, this anime spawned off of the origial series called "The Soul Taker"

Eiken - Not Complete
-A very funny anime, defying the laws of human physics one breast at a time.

Blood wasn't bad, I loved the Cowboy Bebop movie, and I'm trying to get my hands on the series.

There's a Cowboy Bebop movie out right now, it just hit the shelves in DANISH stores. I don't know if it's just the series or a film...but I'm pretty sure it's a film!

Furi Kuri(Fooly Cooly in English pronunciation).

Anyway, it's really weird to see people just now getting into Lain.
Do any of you ever watch Anime in Japanese? Though I think they did good with the English casting in Big O, Cowboy Bebop, Kenshin, and FLCL; Many times the original Japanese cast delivers a much more convincing voice-over. Not only that, but you get to see the Animes before almost all of the picky people! :P

BTW: It's Manga. ;)
 
Naruto! Although I have never seen it my friend has seen all the episodes and says they are the best anime he has ever seen. :E

All the BIG ones (Furi Kuri, Lain, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun...) I watched in origianl voices with subtitles. There's a TV station here that only shows them like that.
 
I cant believe Kimi Ga Nozumu Eien started as a Hentai game (well.. not hentai really... more like echhi :)) Great series though... emotional stuff... ah yeah... i love that :)

The game had about 17 endings. The ending in the anime was OK... could be better (but still very good :D)

You cant watch one Serial Experimens Lain ep and then scrap it... thats just.. bah. You need to see the whole series if you really want it to make any sense at all.

But i guess Lain is for smart people only :P

Ok here is what I watched:

Akira - very good, a classic

Ghost in the Shell (the movie) - good, although a bit overhyped IMO

Ruorni Kenshin (ep 1-26) - not really "dark" in the way most other anime is. Still interesting to watch

Vampire Hunter D - the worst anime ever? I know it's old, but I just couldn't help but laugh at some points because it was so stupid

Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust - unlike its predecessor, this one is very good. One of my favorites

FLCL - weird show, but good animation, interesting story

Cowboy Bebop (the series) - excellent, although I didn't like a few of the episodes.

Cowboy Bebop (the movie) - the story is better than most of the series. The soundtrack is awesome.

Samurai X - dark and depressing, but very good. This is a prequel to the Kenshin series.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - great sotry and character developement. But it breaks down towards the end :(

Hellsing - I didn' like it, seems like a Vampire Hunter D ripoff. No character developement at all

Serial Experiments Lain - I watched like 6 episodes, but didn't really get into it. People say its suppose to be good, maybe I should watch more.

Oh DAYUMN yes :D I forgot about that.... gotta find this on DVD.

Personally I think the RK anime didn't do the manga justice. Read the manga, all of it, you won't be dissapointed. Currently it's being translated by Viz, I think volumes 1 & 2 are out, but I've read up to volume 9 on a scanlation site :) Best manga ever.

Now, not all of these are that great. Some aren't even good. But, for the most part, I like the movies I listed. I can say that Gasaraki is of Particular note. Not that popular of an anime, yet, but great none-the-less. You find the cool(But only in small-screen) trailer, and synopsis here.

Anyone here watch Chrno Crusade? only like 8 eps right now, and I've only seen 2, but I like what I've seen so far.

Narutos one of my favorites (see avatar :D)... although It's geared for kids more sorta and the later eps have been getting kinda dragged on. I loved the first part of it with Haku and Zabuza.

Cowboy Bebop is the best I've seen I think. It's a shame they didnt focus on the main story in the series more, which in my opinion was better than the story in the movie. The movie was overall higher quality of course, and like everyone else it seems, I loved the soundtrack.
 
I was sad when it ended because there were no more eps to watch, but more because it was a sad ending :( I wonder what it would be like after the ending of the movie for the other characters (trying not to give out spoilers)
 
FLCL is got to be the weirdist Anime i have ever seen, if you watch it don't try to understand it, its damn near impossible.
 
You know what's really great, the 3 season Spawn series that was once on HBO. I have them all on DVD. Awesome Eastern animation + Awesome Western story = Awesom collection, really, really worth owning. So, so very good.
