Team Fortress 1 won't launch...

I finally got a new computer and installed my Orange Box... Team Fortress 2 won't launch though. I launched Portal and it works fine...

When I either double click the TF2 icon, or go to steam and click "Launch" it pops up 2 windows, one saying validating.. and then it says (in yellow) "Validating: 100%" and then doesn't do anything.. I've searched around and couldn't find anything but possible updates to my nVidia card (which I did)... but it still won't launch.

Anyone else have this problem?

yea I waited a while actually.. and nothing happened, its like it starts but then just stops with no errors.

ok just saw I put "Team Fortress 1", and I meant "Team Fortress 2"..

also, FYI my system is a Dell XPS 720, Intell 2 Quad 2.4, 2 gigs of ram, 32 bit, GeForce 8800 GT 512 MG Ram, dual 22 inch monitors.. if this helps.

I don't get what you mean by Validating?
