Team Fortress 2 Medic Update = Early Next Week

I know that people are not going to like me....but I'm glad that the update was delayed....Now I don't have to worry about being distracted (like I am right now) by TF2 update while trying to do a 1500 bloody word essay and a collage with a 500word essay and study for an exam ALL next week....

I'm kind of impartial. It is their fault for delaying this update so much, and every developer knows how much hype and how much GTA4 is going to take away from their games. This was a terrible mistake on Valve's part, but of course after a couple of months, TF2 will possibly regain some popularity.
 
Terrible mistake by Valve for releasing free downloadable content. I don't give a shit about GTAIV, I'll be playing TF2 with the cool cats while everyone else gets bored of running people over and shooting cops.

Oh, and I'm with Pesmerga, GTA4 is pointlessly overhyped. It's another game where this happens:

"I'm running around shooting innocent badly programmed people! And I'm hopping in a generic carand driving! And it's got swearing so it's funny! And it's got porn so that makes it so good doesn't it! All of this stuff makes me feel cool for some reason! HURR HURR! BEST GAYM EVA!"

Given the fact that the news states that the "medic update" is being pushed back, without any mention of goldrush, would imply that they are no longer to be released at the same time, would it not?
 
As much as i love TF2, i love the GTA series even more.Those of you ranting and putting down people for pointing out the obvious, are just bitter assholes.

You're ****ing stupid, kid. Sorry TF2 has been losing players by a shitload since its release. Anyone with half a ****ing mind, hell, even Hellen ****ing Keller would know better than to release new, free content to the public when this incredibly hyped game is coming out with reviews coming from every which way saying how 'amazing' the game is.

Sorry you fail to ****ing understand how this was a poor decision for Valve to wait till next to release the content.

How can you even compare a below par shooter to a revolutionary gaming series such as GTA?The moderators should ban you for stupidity alone, not to mention the tirade of insults.

I'm so sorry Shamrock, I don't know what came over me. Truly, Valve's decision to release free content to the players will go down in history as a classic development blunder. Not only is TF2's player count decreasing at alarming rates, but there are reports coming from the woodwork that the Orange Box itself did not gross enough profit to fund its own Fanboy factory.

I hope scholars in the future will realize that it was Valve's foolish dedication to the quality of their games that brought upon their end. Especially releasing a small update near the same time that the game-killer monster GTAIV was slated for retail release. How can Gabe live with himself knowing he is putting the financial careers of Valve's employees at risk by making such a blatantly stubborn decision?

All I can hope for now is to play with bots on my own TF2 server. Maybe a passerby will join and we'll reminisce about the old times when people weren't hooked on the game heroin that is GTAIV.

Please, I said I was sorry. I no longer cling to the old bias I have for TF2- it is clear to me now that the game was never an innovative, stylized, and genuinely fun teamwork based game. If it's not too much to ask, can I join the rest of the world in shooting digital officers of the law and running over pedestrians? I should never have ignored my true desire to play mindless destruction games.

TF2 major game update = great

Free TF2 major game update = amazing

GTA4 = supposedly amazing

GTA4 = INCREDIBLY HYPED

GTA4 = hyped more than the Halo series

TF2 MAJOR, FREE game update = incredibly amazing

TF2 MAJOR, FREE game update during a week where an INCREDIBLY HYPED game is coming out = not such a good idea

TF2 user base has gone downhill since release = not good

TF2 MAJOR, FREE game update during a week where an INCREDIBLY HYPED game is coming out with a user base that is settling out but slowly losing players and trying to gain back their user base with this update during said week = not a good idea at all.

I really don't know how else I could make it simpler.

Because players will only be able to play the new TF2 update the day GTAIV comes out. After those 24 hours, Valve is rolling back the update and returning to using GoldSRC. Seriously, what a dumb basis for an argument.

I have to be right back, 6Three and I have to shoot up more GTAIV. I'm starting to get shaky again, need my fix.

There will be other updates with other new maps, achievements and weapons. The steady updates are part of a longer-term strategy to make TF2 better rather than focusing on any particular release dates by third parties. I doubt that there are many people looking to get GTA4 who would change their minds for a relatively small TF2 update regardless of when it is released. Plus GTA4 is console only compared to the (I believe) mostly-PC TF2.

also gta's gameplay hasn't changed one bit since gta3. they all die within a month
