Does anyone know of any TFC like mods on HL1?

TFC was good in its day but i think a good mod team using todays mapping tools and some more serious gameplay (ie non-spamfest) could really go somewhere...

And its my first thread :)

What do you mean by "TFC like"? If you mean two teams with different class types, you could give Day of Defeat a go if you haven't already. If you mean capture the flag sort of gameplay, try OpFor Multiplayer (I think).

If you're talking about class based teamplay then the only ones I can think of are Firearms and DOD but they try to be semi realistic so certainly different to TFC. TFC is pretty unique in that respect.

Personally I haven't taken to DOD or Firearms.

Obviously DOD is available on Steam and Firearms in available at www.firearmsmod.com

I know its a way off but apparently TFC 2 is going to be quite like what you suggest.

Played DoD...Its quite fantastic. I have heard that OP4 MP has CTF but its not what im thinking of...

Im thinking TFC. Not DoD or firearms.

We know TF2 is supposed to be coming...it has been for five years...
Yes its more likely to happen on Source as a HL2 mod...when THAT happens...

To clear up the seeming confusion I was simply wondering if anyone has done a newer very-TFC-like mod (without the spammyness) for Half-Life and do you think people would take to such an idea: a new TF for HL1.
One of the things that got me playing TFC for a little while in past years is the different game types. How easy, with the seemingly highly flexible TFC ents, different gameplay types could be created, by a mapper who thought about it a little. These days TFC is mostly dead or at least a fraction of its former size. As an example the TFMapped forums have about 2 active members.

No im not proposing doing one. Im already doing a mod and im sure another too soon would kill me :) Anyone else is free to try...
