I didn't notice too much difference between them except one was louder. How high do you have the mic record volume set at? 50%-75% is probably the best. Do you use a headset?

I don't have teamspeak installed atm so maybe someone else can give you an idea on the settings. Defaults have always worked for me in the past though.

On TS you can not use mic combine with monitor/desktop speakers, you must use headphone to get rid of impairment/echo/feedback.

People use mic combined with desktop speakers all the time. THe only problem you should have there is the echo when you have your key pressed down while people are talking. It won't affect sound quality.
