Background Processes: Failed
The following background processes were found on your system. Please try exiting or uninstalling them, and see if that resolves your issue
Process: AOLacsd.exe
AOL Connectivity Service is running on this system. This may cause connections problems with Steam.
Severity: Low

is the only thing that looked like it was wrong

i did that and it still didnt work

it crashed right after the speech as i was about to take control in the train.

could i possibly need a new driver? should i reinstal? (omg that would be a headache...)

Make sure your video card drivers are up-to-date by going to www.nvidia.com.
Be sure your Windows system is also up-to-date by going to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/.
Verify integrity of game cache by doing the following:

1. Load Steam
2. From the My Games tab, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
4. Steam will verify the game cache files (GCF's) - this process may take several minutes. Do not verify the cache files for multiple games simultaneously - as some games share cache files with other games, this may cause problems with verification.
5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

i dowloaded a video card driver from nvidia, but it said i didnt have the right software for the drive?? (i did everything right, and got instructions and such on another forum)

ill try to do what you said when im done reinstalling (thought i might as well try that...)
my computer is new though so it should have an uptodate windows system, not sure about the video card though (geforce go 7300)

Try setting your desktop resolution to the same as you run the game in.

i already tried that and it didnt really help too much =[ when i turned the resolution down to the lowest i was able to get outside the train station, but then it just freezes and crashes there instead :(

I didn't mean the in game res, I meant your desktop res, when you right click on your desktop and use the slider in the appearences tab?

Some people think this error is caused when windows switchs from the game at one res, to windows itself in another, so if you set your desktop to the same resolution as the game, it may help

That wouldnt be the problem link. As for the driver problem, remove your current driver, re-download the new one and it should install fine.

Do other games work?

the only other game i have is brothers and arms and its working fine.

any help finding the right driver? i downloaded one from the nvidia site but i think it was the wrong one
