WARNING- JUST AN IDEA
Technology has helped people gain a degree of control over nature and build a civilized way of life. The earliest human beings had little control over nature. They had only simple tools and did not know how to raise animals or plants. Instead, they obtained food by hunting, fishing and gathering. They had no permanent homes and little but animal skins for protection against the cold. The sun and moon were their only sources of light. About 800,000 years ago, people discovered how to make fire and so could provide themselves with heat and light wherever they went. Still, they made little noticeable impact on their environment.
About 10,000 years ago, people learned how to raise animals and crops. The development of farming led them to settle down in small groups. Then, partly because agriculture produced surplus food, the population grew. In time, towns and cities developed. Many people became free to pursue kinds of work other than food production. Classes of warriors, priests, craft workers, and merchants developed.
I would like to see a Game or Mod that incorporated human discovery. From the dawn of human intelligence, to massive cities, mass production and warfare.
Not one Game that I have seen has done this properly, sure you could go play Age of Empires and say that portrayed human development. The truth is they don’t, in an RTS you cross hundreds of years with the click of a button. I believe this should be fixed with a Game or Mod where everybody works together to help humans progress. Object like Flint stone twigs and stones could be combined to make fires, Animal hides could be shaped to form clothes. Animals could be herded and raised for food. Plants could also be produced for Food. Weapons could be forged from Clubs to Slingshots to defend civilizations and hunt. Tools could be made to fish, build and make deadly traps.
All of this could be used to make a gaming experience that left the player satisfied with what they have done, instead of the average “W007 1 0wnzered 4ll j00” (I have nothing against this but everybody must agree it’s getting old)
Anyone have any thoughts on this.
I’m not looking for Gameplay Ideas so please don’t post any.
