Technology is fast becoming a major part of many of our lives. Recently we have seen politicians using things like youtube to spread their political message.

What technologies exist or could be used in the future to help someone without billions in campaign funds to feasibly run for president? Is it even possible?

I've always thought we needed some major changes in government and this sounds like it could be a good thing.

They could use mind control, which I'm pretty sure does work

In the U.S.? Something that encourages 100% voter turnout would be a good place to start. Free broadband and hardware for everyone with online voting with high incentives to vote might do it. Give everyone cell phones with coverage and let them vote by way of the phone? I dunno - sometimes I think our current system needs its reset button hit to get it working correctly first.

Technology and politics currently just doesn't mix, at least here in the UK. You only have to look at the billions of pounds wasted on failed IT systems, and the hysteria which typically surrounds any discourse on video gaming.

Politicians are just too damn OLD.

Well Ron Paul is running for president mainly through the internet, because the mass media almost never covers him. And right now he has more money in the bank than John McCain.
