Is there a temperature monitor that shows ontop of everything, even games like fraps fps? I like to monitor realtime temp during certain game sequences.

yes it does, i use everest with my g15 lcd panel and that works well for me.

so.. i cant find this setting, can someone help me? where is it?

sorry you double post, but i cant find this so called setting i described in my original post anywhere! help?

there is nothing that will show up on top of games that i know of. you can only run in windowed mode and then see your temperatures with ati tray tools.

well i meant you can use anything, honestly i hate ntune for over clocking my card but i guess its ok for temperatures.

Probably the most extensive "monitoring" software out there is Everest. Right now I'm monitoring the following in my "gadget bar" on the right of my screen:

CPU Clock:
DDR2 Clock:
RAM MHZ:
CPU CORE 1:
CPU CORE 2:
CPU CORE 3:
CPU CORE 4:
RAM Use:
Free Ram:
CPU Core #1:
CPU Core #2:
CPU Core #3:
CPU Core #4:
CPU Fan:
PSU Fan:
Chasis Fan:
CPU Vcore:
+3.3v:
+5v:
+12v:
GPU1 Diode:
GPU2 Diode:
GPU1 MEM:
GPU2 MEM:
HDD TMP1:
HDD TMP2:
HDD TMP3:
HDD TMP4:

... and more. It's quite amusing how much stuff it monitors.

Wait, did you get it to monitor all that stuff in real time or just the report to html/txt file thing? If real time, tell me how!

just go in to your preferences in everest and go to the hardware monitoring area. you can do many things like just creating a bar with ever information on it,making it work in the vista sidebar, or putting it on a g15 lcd.

Ummmmmm. Tray Tools lets you put anything you want in an overlay. Go look moar. I wouldn't have mentioned it in this thread if it couldn't do what the OP asked for.

Right click the tray icon > Tools & Options > OnScreen Display > Flash OSD tab > Checkbox the params you want to show.

Now to make that show ingame, you need to right click the tray icon > Hotkeys > Enable Hotkeys.
Then go to Custumize and create a new key to Flash or show/hide the OSD (onscreen display)

but does it show up as an overlay in a game? that is what he is asking. he inst asking just for an overlay on his desktop.

vegeta, im not sure i understand you fully.

The program is called ati tray tools? because i dont have a ati card

According to what Giant said it works, dunno for sure though.

many many people use it for benching there cards. regardless if its an nvidia or ati.

ATI Tray Tools is not compatible with nVidia cards. You'll need ATI Tool instead.

well, i cant find the option on ati tools for the overlay in game thing
