For those who hoped that reaction to Terminator Salvation might have put McG off the idea of moving forward with Terminator 5, we have sad news for you: He's already working on it, and he's modeling himself after Michael Bay.

Talking to IESB, the director said,

Obviously, Michael Bay had tremendous success following Transformers, in a very short window. Sometimes people like to take time off, but I'm excited about the next installation of the story, in the Terminator idea. So, for me, it's terribly exciting to get back out there and show a different face of that idea, and perhaps get out of the apocalyptic world and into a contemporary world. I think the audience is going to be very excited about our way in.

What the ****? No! Keep going forward with the apocalypse God damn it.
We've had enough Terminator movies set in the present/past already.

Although, I'm probably one of the few people that even half-enjoyed T4.

Considering that the only scene in the entire movie that I liked was the one with CGI Arnold, it speaks volumes on how much I "enjoyed" Terminator 4...

WHAT!?!?!?!! MCG IS STILL DOING THIS?!?!? ****ING DIE!!!

I listen to everything. It's interesting because a lot of people don't like me, but a lot of people just don't like my name. I can't take that too seriously because that's been my name my whole life. It's not something that I prescribed myself.

Wow he passes off all the negative criticism onto his name *facepalm* and even then it's pretentious as **** to have a name like that

Obviously, Michael Bay should have been taken outside and shot in the mouth following Transformers.

holy shit, i thought he was joking (this is actually "very old" news) - pathetic moron. is this guy taking drugs or what? this shit makes me miss tscc

I enjoyed it. It was a lot better then I thought it would be. Then again, after watching Transformers 2, I had really low expectations.

This.

I didn't have any expectations at all.
I just wanted to see the future war scenes in a full length movie and that's what I got for the most part.

Meh. I wanted to see full on Warfare in the movie but all we got is a Spec-Ops mission that takes place early into the war. It focused too much on Marcus and the plot was quite predictable. Now, they want to go back to the past when we barely got a taste of the actual war. Christian Bale wasn't right for the role imo. He's a good actor but he overdid with this role and the rest of the cast wasn't very impressive either.

Past not passed, by the way.

Set in the passed again??

With this HOLE thread as witness, I will not be in the theaters on that FAITHFUL day. I'd rather be DYEING, I INSURE you.

Making fun of grammar is my favorite past time

On a side note, why does Christian Bale keep getting work?

Let's go back in time and convince Cameron never even to make the first one. Desperate measures and all that.

Doing that would deny the world two great films. However, it's almost reaching that point.

No, lets go back in time and kill Camerons mother to prevent him from ever being born.

Or we could go to the future and capture his father before he's sent back in time and hold him in our poorly guarded headquarters only to let a robot go crazy and help John Connor let him escape in a completely sad and mediocre attempt at an 'action' movie.

stop! i'm still trying to forget it :(

I think then you would have to go back in time and assassinate me for coming up with such a bad idea in the first place

At which point time and space folds in on itself and before you know it, VRUMP, Big Crunch, but Bigger.

You folks do realize that if we go back in time we ourselves will be caught in some kind of horrible movie series that refuses to die.

That is a strange and strangely alluring form of immortality.
