basically Tom Ridge says he was pressured into raising the terror levels in order to help Bush win the presidential election in 2004 due to people being scared about terrorist threats.

I remember people saying exactly this thing when it happened and afterwards, and it turns out it was right. Well, according to Tom Ridge anyway.
