ABC comedians have made a mockery of Sydney Airport security, booking flights under the false names Terry Wrist and Al Kyder.

Virgin Blue staff did not pick up on the joke when the men failed to turn up, despite the similarities to "Al Qaeda" and "terrorist".

"This is the final boarding call for ... Al Kyder and Terry Wrist ... travelling to Melbourne today," was the airport announcement.
