Today I just came back from a test drive of the new Lancer Evo 8.
Fantastic. Normally you are not suposed to test drive it as it just came to the agency, but since I went with my dad and made an apointment, today we got called for the test.

First of all, it looked nice from the outside, nice big Fiber carbon spoiler, BBS rhims and Brembo brakes. It really looked bad-ass, I love factory tuned cars.
When we first took it out, there was trafic, so we had to run under 3000 RPM, I thought that it suked balls, but when a strait ligner, over 3000 RPM the trubo kicked in... we were catapulted to the back of our Recaro racing seats, I love that feeling, the engine made a really nice sound and it was fast as hell.

The only thing I dindn't like was when changing gears, it was to roughf, you really loose speed when changin them. Also, the interior, apart from the racing seats, sucks. Really simple, nothing much to see, but then again, its a racing car.

Second thing I didn't like, the price tag : 45 thousand dollars. I think is ridiculois expensive when with that price you can buy an SRT-8 and in the US you can buy the evo for 39 K.

It would also be stupid to buy one, when the new Evo model (concept x) is cmoing out next year.

It's a toy, my volvo 940 2.0 turbo is a proper car.

That car may be very fast but it would not win a head on collision with my car.

The Evo is the only car Mitsubishi is doing right, and even then all it does is compete with the STI.

It's good for rice boys and show offs, and family men with big misplaced egos.

Your analysis falls in line with the norm. Sounds about right.

Curb weight of your car is 3091 lbs.
Curb weight of Evo 8 is 3263 lbs.

What your car has in tank-like structure, the evo makes up with over 260lbs of plastic and a possibly overweight driver.

Pretty even match.

You're forgetting to mention that the fuel tank in the Evo 8 is smaller than a fleas ballsack, and that the Evo 8 does about 3 gallons to the mile.

Evo owners dont get respect, they're just drug dealers or clueless fat blokes.

If you like the Evo and are looking for something like a hatchback, I think that Mitsubishi is bringing the Colt to the UK... but not to the US :(

Evo's would be better if they gave them more character, they pretty much are just computers on wheels now, plus they'll never look as good as a Subaru STi

It would be cool if the Colt got an Evolution... but alas, that title is meant only for the Lancer.

Would everyone stop sayin my name

FYI Subaru (or maybe it was STI) officially changed the little i to a capital I.
Forgot where I found that info otherwise I'd have a source ready.

A 10 year old + car would outperform a brand new similarly sized car in a head-on collision?

Dream on mate. Dream on.

Shaddap.

Evo's pwn.

Not you, the car.

And Shortrecoil (or Sperminator), you could crush your car like a soda can.

And then it wouldn't matter.

Yeah, the car Evo's do pwn, much better than teh new Imprezza's

Or hardcore car enthusiasts that thrive on its precision and sheer cross country pace ?

Your view would be somewhat of a generalisation. Many a reputable car magazine with middle aged (i.e. not impressionable youths) writers can often been found praising its abilities, and it's these kind of people that you may also find in possesion of one, not just yobs.

And no i don't own one.... just thought i'd make a point.

Hell i wouldnt complain... id take one over my peice of crap. and the new rex's look fugly.
