Not everyone has X800's or 6800's

That is why you buy them to test with, they aren't doing performance tests, this is a content test if anything.

9800s are also a lot cheaper than x800s and 6800s, as well as being the premier mid-range card of choice. A lot of people will have one, so they'd want to have the testers to have them as well.

I got one, and I aint going to upgrade yet. Whats the point? When HL2 was developed initially it should have come out last year. I got my 9800pro last year. End of arguement.

Hmm, yeah. We're all too busy chasing leprechauns and carrying pigs under our arms to have computers

If anyone's interested Vivendi Ireland are involved in software localisation, my guess is that if they are indeed testing HL2 then its most likely the UK/Ireland version.

Last I heard the worldwide release thing is unlikely to be followed through so it would make sense if our version was going into testing a few days later than the US version
