im making a map for counterstrike, and in order to test your map, you have to make a lan server, and find your map name in the list. can any of you mappers tell me how they get to testing a map using steam step by step? its the only thing keeping me from making the rest of my map. :cat:

1. Compile your map
2. Put the compiled map ( *.bsp ) into your CS maps folder ( e.g. C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[email protected]\counter-strike\cstrike\maps )

3. Start Steam
4. Start CS
5. Click on "New Game"
6. Choose your map in the dropdown list
7. Click on the "Start" button

If you have any custom WADs, your need to put them in your CS directory ( e.g C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\[email protected]\counter-strike\cstrike )

Et Voila :)

thats it.

i put the map in my maps folder for half-life, not steam! to bad your already on my wul list, i would have put you up right on the spot.

I'd love to see your maps btw :) I have done alot of CS mapping, i'll post my new map in a few days.
