The clamp broke off, so thats why I needed a new one. Apparently this snare was made with shitty wood, so the screw holes got stripped... I was pissed cause my warranty expired, and they stopped production on this model... I wonder why...

Here's a pic of how I TRIED to fix it...

Needless to say, that failed, because I couldn't get enough grip on it to get the other side of the snare wire to touch the bottom head. I was enraged for a while.

Do you look at drum tabs for all the stuff you play or do you just play along? I've tried looking at drum tabs but they just confuse the shit out of me.

Don't look at drum tabs. Just listen to the guitars, ignore the drums, and play what feels right to you. Don't try to play it exactly like the drummer of the song, because

1, That's lame
2, You lose some creativity on drums if you play everybody elses stuff without your own flavor.

So, no. I never look up tabs. I hear all these guys that get the drum books, and they play the song on their small kit like Lars does, and they hit 16", 18", 16"... and it just sounds like someone in my ear going TSS tss TSS tsssss! I want to slap them. Play the song to suit your kit size, and your personality, not to suit the other drummer. **** that guy. As long as you're playing, you're THE drummer.

Thats the difference of $250, and $1000 if i get a new set. (Which will have to be the case.)

The snare was just $250, and I needed that more than cymbals... I can live with the cymbals, because they're just backup, but the snare is the main driving force. Can't not have that.
