Text that comes up in the middle of the screen

After watching some demos and videos, I noticed that when you start a new chapter, the chapter name comes up in the middle of the screen, like when you're in the train at the beginning it says 'Point Insertion' on the screen, and also when the game autosaves it will say 'Saving...' or something like that. But my game doesn't do this. Is there a command to enable/disable this feature? Maybe I accidentaly disabled it, but then again I don't think I ever remember seeing words in the middle of my screen. It isn't some major thing, but I'd just like to know if I can enable it.

Can't say as I've seen those on mine neither, its probably developer mode or some such stuff.. however they do appear often on the warezed versions for whatever reason. So you might be best off not having them cause you'll be accused of allsorts

No those pieces of text are part of the proper game, they were in HL1 and they are in HL2, except for some people they dont appear. Sometimes I get 'Saved..' upon saving, but thats it. Whereas my brother gets them all >.<
