Texture errors, please help

I've just installed half life 2, my pc goes well over the reccomended requirements. Basically, I get alot of texture errors like :

"Error: Material "skybox/sky_day01_04dn" uses unknown shader "vmt",

These errors occur when pink water is ingame, and when the sky doesn't move.

It's come to a point in a certain chapter where I can't even see where I'm going becuase the sky is so bad.

Please help, (btw I have tried to reinstall)

Graphics card? Driver version? Operating system? Service Pack? Screenshot?

128mb GeForce FX 5200, latest version, xp home edition, SP1 (have tried on my SP2 and non service pack PC aswell but same problem)

Sky (It didnt come out very well in the screen shot, but as you can see it just shows the things that were there like the console and items)
