Texture Problem (i think)

Hi all

I am very new to Hammer and HL mapping. Ater reading a load of tutorials i thought id give it a go, after a few hours of messing around i finally started creating my 1st map.

However ive ran into a problem, i have made my player spawns and buyzones. The map is situated outdoors and i have my skybox in place fine. But for some strange reason all my brushes appear Black with no textures, except for one of my floors inside one of the buildings i created and a utility pole static i used.

its because you don't have any lights outside, so they appear balck. place some lights outside or use a light_env to light up your map.
 
Ok i deleted the light_env i previously created and re created it fine. However if you see in the Ingame shots, my Buyzoen is showing as a Trigger brush ? How can i solve that one?
 
Have you tied the brush to func_buyzone?

select the brush in hammer do ctrl-t then select func_buyzone.

Should clear it up!!

Hmm im not sure where im going wrong..... the body hangs just to the left of the Rope and the rope doesnt move when i shoot the body :(

Also i have ran into, yet again, anotehr problem, but this time i "think2 it could be lighting....

Crap, for some reason my ftp client isnt allowing me to upload the piccy, but basically on my weapons im getting like green noise and white finegr nails on my player models.
