Alright, I've compiled my custom textures using Vtex and I made a vmt for my image and put a transparent 1 command in it so that it reads the alpha channel, and it looks great in Hammer, but when I run my map, the texture lis black. I've had this problem with some other textures I've made as well, but those sometimes flicker back to the right color. I read somewhere that Hl2 likes to take the darkest texture and make it black, but I don't want it to do that to MY textures. Any advice?
