textures go black

I have a long curved cliff in a fairly open area. After I added a static prop and was doing some more geometry painting and played it, it goes black when I look at the new part. I have a DX 7 card. Can anyone tell me how to get this map to not spaz on a DX7 please because I'd like my map to be played by as much people as possible.

make sure the texture doesn't have the words Model in it. That means that the texture is for models only.
 
i have the same problem...i used a cheap way of importing a texture from photorealistic pack...(yellow tiles) Cheap way = saving it as a spray... Anyways...when i get up close to the texture in game and shoot at it or something...all of a sudden it goes black?!?!....the texture doesnt have model in it but it does have the same things in it as a spray...vgui\logos
