Textures not showing up, screenshot...any ideas?

Hello,
For some reason all of a sudden the textures stopped showing up correctly in HL2! I'm currently at Follow Freeman, and it seems that after a recent update, I've been experiencing sound bugs and even a lock-up. Oh, and lots of textures not showing up. It seems that exiting the game and/or reloading does not seem to remedy. Any ideas?

Asus a8n-sli
evga 6800gt pci-e
1gb pc3200
wd raptor 74gb

I would try reinstalling the game (making sure to back up your save files)

Woah, that's crazy.

I don't think I've ever seen that problem before with HL2.

Never reinstall the game, always try validating your game files first

That's steam://validate/220.

Problem fixed. Validated and began playing shortly before the problem ocurred. Thanks guys!
