TF2 Disconnects my internet when I try to join a server

Whenever it brings up the server list it stops halfway through because it disconnects my internet. I try to connect to servers that are on the list with no luck. I tried playing HL2 Deathmatch and it connects fine. Not sure what could possibly cause this, anyone else have this problem?

Do you have dial-up or broadband?

That's a very odd problem.

Sounds like a firewall problem. Go check that first.

Ya I tried turning of my firewall, still didnt work. I'm on wireless right now at my parents and I think I'm just gonna have to wait till I move out again.

I too have this problem. The only thing I can get people to tell me to do is to delete my C:\Program Files\Steam\clientregistry.blob file. But it doesn't do anything for me. ANY time I try to find servers or connect to one, I get totally disconnected from my internet, regardless of the hl2 application (CS, HL2DM, TF2)

I don't know what the problem is, but it's not my router. And it's not my installation, either. Best of luck to you on finding a solution, maybe what I posted above will help you?

I have the same problem, but it has spread to all multiplayer Steam games. There are a couple of links in the thread I've posted above that may be of some assistance.
