I had this problem during the beta as well and I just remembered I had still set my launch options to add the paramaters to include forcing the dx level and resolution. If I do not the game will crash and fail to reach the menu screen. I thought this was just a beta issue, well last night I removed the launch options and same thing still happens.

The reason I am posting here is the steam forums suck and before I spend time posting there I wanted to see if anyone here knows what the hell is going on.

I have a high end pc I just built not but 2 months ago, dual core 6600 asus mobo 2 gig ddr2 geforce 8800gt 640 meg etc. I have loaded the latest drivers for everything so I am at a loss as to what the problem is.

I also do not see any options in the multiplayer tab for spray selection. If I try and load a custom one I get cannot find vtex.dll messages informing I need to restart steam to update however it IS already up to date and I have verified the cache.

If anyone knows wtf is going on and why I am having these problems I would be very grateful. Normally I can find things out myself or fix them but I have lost patience trying to fix this problem. Ive deleted tf2 and redownloaded it and still no luck. Thanks for anyone who can solve my problem.

I'm pretty much at a loss too. So you got all the drivers for the correct OS and everything including chipset drivers, sound card, etc? My first guess would be that. The spray function is pretty much a weird one. They never included default ones so idk what's going on with that. You can create custom ones though.

Yea I have checked everything, after doing some more research I did find that they say AVG antivirus 7.5 interferes with steam stuff, even though I turn that off when I game prehaps it still has some things loaded into memory and I need to disable it from starting up with my windows.
