Cower fools! Two years after he last reigned down terror at Ghost Fort, Merasmus is back in this year's Team Fortress Halloween update, Scream Fortress VI! As shown by this year's Halloween Comic, entitled "Blood Money", Merasmus has attempted to open his own "evil circus", but has, unfortunately, forgotten to build it on an ancient burial ground. Due to an "eldritch loophole", Merasmus has gathered the nine mercenaries and is attempting to create his own burial ground using magic spells, curses, and...bumper cars.

This year's themed map, "Carnival of Carnage", appears as a spooky version of Doomsday and features a brand new circus environment theme while reintroducing many of the magic spells previously seen during last year's event at Helltower. Alongside "lakes of urine-scented water", also known as Jarate, the map features post-match bumper car arenas with three separate gamemodes, including Elimination, Car Football, and Duck Collection, all of which pit both teams against each other as they try and complete a set objective while knocking their opponents off the course.

Alongside 6 new achievements and 50 new Halloween-themed cosmetic items, the update has also introduced a new Scream Fortress theme song known as "Misfortune Teller". All of the features we've mentioned so far in this post (and a whole lot more) can be checked out in this year's Scream Fortress VI event for Team Fortress 2, which will run from October 29th until November 12th, giving you plenty of time to check out this year's brand new map and items. Happy Halloween, everyone!

This year's themed map, currently referred to as "Carnival of Carnage", will feature a brand new circus environment theme and will reintroduce many of the magic spells previously seen during last year's event at Helltower. Alongside apparent "lakes of urine-scented water", also known as Jarate, the map will feature a bumper car/football arena that pits both teams against each other as they attempt to score more goals than the opposing team.

Other than 6 description-less achievements and the expected list of Halloween-themed cosmetic items, the update page provides very little additional information about the features set to appear in this year's update. Thankfully we shouldn't have to wait too long to find out, as the Scream Fortress VI event for Team Fortress 2 will go live later today on October 29th before running until November 12th, giving you plenty of time to check out this year's brand new map and items. Happy Halloween, everyone!

I guess we have the perfect map for the Valve Time event

Valve time event? Oh, crap. Of all the weeks to loose access to a game-capable computer, it had to happen during Scream Fortress.
